Sailsbury Class (Year 4)

We have been having an exciting year so far in Salisbury class, taking part in many hands on activities already as we know this helps us to learn.

We are lucky that Salisbury Class has been chosen for the ‘Chess in Schools’ programme and we will be developing our tactical thinking skills weekly through the game of Chess. This should help us in many subject areas including maths!

We have lots of opportunities to practise our acting skills in English lessons - we have looked at performance poetry and created our own play scripts - it is always a lot of fun performing the end products!

This year we are studying the gory history of the Roman Empire and we are very excited about our first trip of the year to The Museum of London which will help us explore the influence of the Romans in our own city…

Hi Everyone,

We have been having an exciting year so far in Salisbury class, taking part in many hands on activities already.

In art we crafted pots out of clay as well as designing and creating Viking ships out of recycled materials.

We are lucky that year 4 has been chosen for the, ‘Chess in Schools’ programme and will be developing our tactical thinking skills weekly through the game of Chess.

We have had lots of opportunities to practice our acting skills in English lessons. We have looked at performance poetry and created our own play scripts, it was a lot of fun performing the end products.

This term we are looking at rhythm in music, starting to practice beats to the bar and beginning to read musical notes.

We are very excited about our trip to the London Transport Museum on 28th January, where we will be taking part in an interactive workshop entitled, ‘Inspire Engineering’.
