Sailsbury Class (Year 4)

Welcome to the Salisbury Class page!

We have been having an exciting year so far in Salisbury Class, taking part in many hands-on activities already as we know this helps us to learn.

We are lucky that Salisbury Class has been chosen for the ‘Chess in Schools’ programme and we will start developing our tactical thinking skills weekly through the game of Chess. This should help us in many subject areas including maths!

We have lots of opportunities to practise our acting skills during English lessons - we have looked at poetry and newspapers so far and we always enjoy our lessons together.

This year we are studying the states of matter in science and we are very excited about our trip to The Science Museum which will help us explore the different states of water including the Water Cycle.

Each half term we also explore a ‘Big Theological Question’ in R.E. For example, ‘How does Holy Communion build a Christian Community?’.

The class is part of an exciting project with The House of Illustration in King’s Cross which is enabling us all to improve our art techniques!

Hi Everyone,

We have been having an exciting year so far in Salisbury class, taking part in many hands on activities already.

In art we crafted pots out of clay as well as designing and creating Viking ships out of recycled materials.

We are lucky that year 4 has been chosen for the, ‘Chess in Schools’ programme and will be developing our tactical thinking skills weekly through the game of Chess.

We have had lots of opportunities to practice our acting skills in English lessons. We have looked at performance poetry and created our own play scripts, it was a lot of fun performing the end products.

This term we are looking at rhythm in music, starting to practice beats to the bar and beginning to read musical notes.

We are very excited about our trip to the London Transport Museum on 28th January, where we will be taking part in an interactive workshop entitled, ‘Inspire Engineering’.
