  • Swimming Gala

    22 children from across Year Four, Year Five and Year Six took part in the Islington Swimming Gala Trials this week.  Results are not yet known, but we have our fingers crossed that some children will progress to the finals next week.

  • Primary Shakespeare Company Workshop

    Year Five had their first Shakespeare workshop this week in preparation for their performance of A Winter’s Tale in the Summer Term.  The children enjoyed their first session and are enthused about future sessions

  • Skipping Workshops

    All children across the school took part in Skipping Workshops this week.  We have these fun workshops each term led by Lizzie Cox.  The children really enjoy learning new skills and tricks.  Later in the year we will be participating in a national skipping event.

  • LDBS Service - St Paul's Cathedral

    Thu 12 Feb 2026

    Some members of the school council went to the annual London Diocesan Board for Schools Service at St Paul’s Cathedral.  There were over 2,000 people in attendance – it felt amazing singing with so many voices.

  • British Museum - Year Four

    Wed 11 Feb 2026

    Year Four had a highly enjoyable visit to the British Museum.  The children viewed an array of Anglo-Saxon artefacts.  One child said, ‘I enjoyed the trip and liked learning about how the Anglo-Saxon weapons were used in battle against the Romans.’

  • Buddhist Centre - Year Six

    Year Six visited the Buddhist Centre, the children learnt more about Buddha, his life and his compassion for those suffering.  One pupil said, ‘I learnt a lot, how to meditate and how to focus my mind.’

  • Premier League Stars Football Tournament

    A group of girls from Year Five and Year Six took part in Premier League Stars Football Tournament.  They did impressively well, playing as a team and supporting each other.  They reached the latter stages of the competition and finished in the top 4 – well done team!

  • Year Five visit the British Museum

    Today Year Five visited the British Museum.  The children explored the museum and especially enjoyed the Ancient Islamic Civilisation, Greek and Egyptian Rooms. 

     

    Penelope said, ‘I really enjoyed seeing everything especially the sculpture of a skeleton’. 

     

    Aaron said, ‘I enjoyed the Early Islamic Civilisation sculptures and looking at the swords on show.’

  • Year Two - Throwing and Catching Festival

    A group of Year Two pupils took part in a Throwing and Catching Festival at the start of the week.  The children enjoyed the event and developed their throwing and catching skills. 

     

    Two pupils said, ‘I had fun and I can use my throwing and catching skills now in my PE lessons at school.’ ‘We worked together and no one was left out of the games.’
