Junior Citizenship Workshop – Year Six
Today Year Six visited the Sobel Leisure Centre for a Junior Citizenship Worksop.
The children learnt about the following –
- Drug Safety – learning about the difference between good and prohibited drugs
- Fire Safety – focusing on the upkeep of smoke detectors at home and guidance of what to do in the event of a fire
- Gender Equability – challenging misogynistic views
- First Aid – checking someone using the ABC rule and knowing when and how to call for the emergency services
- Rail Safety – what to do if someone has fallen on to the tracks
- Bus Safety – what to do if someone is not behaving appropriately – don’t try and be a hero
- Escalator Safety – ‘stick to the right and hold on tight’
