York Class (Reception)

At St Andrew's, we recognise the importance of providing children with the best possible opportunities to develop their learning right from the start of their educational journey in Reception. Our aim is to foster a vibrant, engaging, and motivating Early Years environment that nurtures a lifelong love of learning.

We achieve this through a combination of:

·         Planning tailored to the children's interests and developmental needs

·         Implementation of the revised Little Wandle Phonics Programme

EYFS Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum comprises three prime areas of learning:

·         Physical Development

·         Personal, Social, and Emotional Development

Additionally, there are four specific areas of learning:

·         Literacy

·         Mathematics

·         Understanding the World

·         Expressive Arts and Design

Learning Journeys

We are delighted to share our online learning journey system called Tapestry. This platform enables you to observe your child's development throughout the year and add your own observations. We encourage you to comment on your child's profile and share their home learning experiences with the teachers here at St Andrew's. We are committed to working in partnership with your child to help them reach their full potential.
