Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment - content here is in addition to the weekly Head of School Letter which includes lots of latest news.
Year Three visited the Guildhall Art Gallery to take part in a workshop titled Women in the Picture. During the visit, the children explored and discussed a variety of paintings, learning about historical gender inequality in the art world, including the fact that only a small percentage of artists were female. They brought their learning to life by creating freeze frames inspired by still-life compositions, and also had the opportunity to view a range of sculptures.
As part of the visit, the children explored the remains of the Roman amphitheatre, adding a fascinating historical dimension to their day. The pupils were highly enthusiastic when recalling their experiences and clearly gained a great deal from this enriching visit.
Year Two visited Pizza Express, where they took part in a hands-on pizza-making experience. Each child returned to school with a pizza they had made themselves. Using ready-rolled dough, they shaped their own crusts, spread tomato sauce, and added cheese. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and said they were looking forward to making pizzas again.
Year One travelled to St Paul’s Cathedral, where they were struck by the beauty and scale of the building—one pupil commented, “It’s very beautiful when you look up.” The children took part in an exciting treasure hunt to find significant objects within the cathedral and learnt about the Eucharist. They also saw the font and baptismal cup and were especially excited to try on some of the priestly vestments.
Reception Class visited St Andrew’s Church, where Rev Caroline led a session introducing the children to key aspects of the Christian faith. They learnt about the significance of the cross, explored the meaning of the bread and wine, and examined features of the church such as the foundation stone, stained glass windows, and the font used for baptisms. The children also enjoyed listening to Rev Caroline play the grand piano and were particularly impressed by her “special vicar clothes”, as one child described them.
Year One had an exciting and educational visit to Islington Fire Station. During their trip, the children learned about fire safety, the important role of firefighters, and how to respond in an emergency. They enjoyed exploring the fire station, seeing the equipment up close, and asking thoughtful questions, making it a memorable and valuable learning experience
Today, we were pleased to welcome Alan Parker from Discovery 3, who delivered an informative and important Safer Internet assembly to the whole school. The children learned about how to stay safe online, including an introduction to using AI responsibly. Following the assembly, pupils took part in creative activities to deepen their understanding: Year One and Year Two designed digital posters, Year Three and Year Four created animated adverts, and Year Five and Year Six produced short films, all focused on promoting safe and positive online behaviour.

Over the past fortnight, pupils and staff shared their personal presentations with their classes, which proved to be truly inspiring and provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn more about one another.
Many children arrived at school full of excitement, eager to talk about what they had discovered about themselves and their families. A great deal of time, care, and pride clearly went into preparing these presentations, and this did not go unnoticed—thank you to everyone for your support.
We also enjoyed celebrating our diverse community through the Cultural Food Tasting Session, where families kindly brought in special dishes to share, followed by our Cultural Celebration Own Clothes Day, with children and staff proudly wearing items that reflected and celebrated their culture.
Today, Year Three visited the Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House, where they took part in engaging drawing workshops and explored the wonderful artwork on display. The children approached the visit with enthusiasm and curiosity, making the most of this enriching experience. Their behaviour was exemplary throughout the trip, with staff at the gallery and members of the public commenting on their politeness and conduct. In fact, several staff members shared that this was one of the best classes they had ever worked with, which is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the pupils.
This term, we have been developing our Forest School provision alongside our Forest School Leader, Nina Lovelace. We are delighted to now have an outdoor classroom, a mud kitchen, a mud pit and a dedicated den-building area for the pupils to enjoy.
Next term, we look forward to further enhancing the space by creating an allotment area where children will be able to grow their own plants.
